Dolly Parton, Songteller
by Dolly Parton
Dolly Parton is a national treasure. She just comes off as such a genuine, down-to-Earth person. In this book she simply tells stories about her songs and her life. She imparts hard earned wisdom she's gained along the way.
I listened to this book and enjoyed the semi-interview style. I loved hearing Dolly talk and loved the snippets of songs. The only issue I had is that I usually listen at 2.5X speed. I would have liked to hear the songs in normal speed, but they were so short and usually only a minute or two apart, and I didn't want to switch speeds so frequently. That's a me issue though.
Overall, it was an entertaining way to spend a few hours and gave me fresh appreciation for Dolly Parton.
