i’m not invested with these characters at all and despite the very dark and mysterious subject matter, some of the writing is so childish it’s laughable. this book is confusing in a way that goes beyond it being a mystery, maybe everything comes together neatly by the end but this isn’t for me. i’ve also struggled to care about any of the characters because their names are all so similar that i don’t even know who’s being referred to!
