The Turn: The Hollows Begins with Death by Kim Harrison

3.0

I love the world and the writing (as being emblematic of urban fantasy genre). None of your favorite characters are here, but their parents are. And several minor Hollows characters make cameos or serve as supporting characters.

What I didn't like is what I wouldn't have ever liked no matter what - so you may not have the same experience. I hate apocalypse as a plot point. From the title you know this book is about an apocalypse (if you've read Hollows you know anyway).

That wouldn't have ever kept me from reading it - I'm glad I did! I missed the world of the apocalyptic tomato. :)

And Trenton. Well, we can chat about that ending if you want. I think it suffices to say elves. 1950s. I guess it's to be expected. Sigh. I guess we know where our beloved Trent came from.
