For You by Ari Wright

4.0

Wow, when Ari Wright set out to write what’s described as “romantic suspense”, she didn’t hold back. For You had me on the edge of my seat for most of the book, and then there’s the beautiful love story woven throughout.

What really stuck with me was the characters. While we do learn why Alice is so critical of herself, it was heartbreaking at times to witness the cruel thoughts she had about herself and her body. I get it, but it still made my heart ache for her. Marco is fighting his own demons, but ends up being the swoon romantic hero she needs (that we all need).

I appreciated that the book didn’t just end when the baddie was caught and the mystery solved. Ari gave just enough time for the reader to decompress with the story of Alice and Marco working through the trauma their relationship experienced instead of quickly wrapping everything up in a pretty bow. Masterful!

Thank you Ari Wright and Happily Booked PR for the gifted ARC.
