In this sequel, the story succeeds in creating new characters and challenges both within and without Rama II. A worthy follow-up that's adds more mystery to the Rama series and sets up the rest of the series well. Although some of the predictions are laughable in terms of science-fiction, overall, the novel is quite strong.
