Feels like exactly what it is: the debut that the author wrote in college! I get why this was published -- timely, and clearly it works for many -- to me it was premature. The concept felt very underdeveloped and the plot was a whole lotta wheel-spinning. However, I enjoyed aspects of the characterization, especially of the two leads, and I was constantly wondering about the allegiances of the side characters.
