This fictionalization of the Buddha’s life is a good read if you’re interested in such a thing. My big complaint, and what keeps it from being close to, if not entirely, a five star book is the near total lack of world building. There’s very little given to the world, and often the story feels like it’s being told by someone who is a great writer of non-fiction (which isn’t surprising given the author). So while it’s enjoyable, I wish it was a bit more imaginative.
