The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
3.0

This book is quite frankly the worst depiction of a practicing psychotherapist I've ever seen, and I say that as a therapist myself. It's an intriguing story, sure, but clinical ethics were thrown out the window so often that it was almost comical that the narrator felt compelled to expose the lack of ethics in other characters. At any rate, this book is a minefield of interesting talking points about mental health, effects of trauma, and analysis of some of the worst society has to offer. 3 stars for being compulsively readable, but no higher due to the blatant insult this was toward my profession.
