The Testaments by Margaret Atwood

4.0

I found this to be a thrilling tale, though too idealized - it was a neat bow to tie the story up. It lacked some of the pathos and weight of its predecessor, and I found that some of the pieces fell too smoothly into place where I would have preferred something messier and more fraught with emotion or internal conflict. We understood Lydia's choices beat, as she gave us a deeper look into her mind than the girls did. I would have liked to get to know the sisters better and to better understand their internal conflicts.
