Deep Work: Rules for Focused Success in a Distracted World by Cal Newport

1.0

Deep Work's dedicated rate of unaccomplished one star depicts my weak and poor recommendation of the book. I have read lots of self-helps and I am always wary and cautious of my choices. To be fair, the overall message that the book tried to convey is undoubtedly one of the most important skills that we should learn. However, in order for a self-help to achieve its title, it should be more connected and writing is the greatest factor.

The strength of the book is the significance and relevance of its core message that will evidently alleviate our management of time and priorities. However, its brilliant central thought was concealed under its weaknesses: complicated and perplexed writing approach making it unable to fully convey the message, puzzling structure of sentences in where the most valuable are not being deeply emphasized, and lastly, its seemingly pompous referencing that relinquishes the very idea of self-help genre.
