If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane

4.5

I’m really a fan of the fake relationship trope and I find that the one in this book was satisfying. While I would’ve appreciated a bit more heat to the romance, I was surprisingly okay with the lack if it. The emotions is really what made me enjoy the book. The author really knows how to paint a picture. In fact, I was devastated for Laurie that I wanted to skip a lot of the pages because I didn’t want to feel her pain!

I slashed two stars from my rating because I felt let down by the ending. It felt anticlimactic and hurried. I wish there were a few more pages to fully close out Laurie and Jamie’s story.
