The Art of War by Sun Tzu

A beautiful edition of “Art of War” that includes an extended introduction where part of its history, its creation, preservation and translation are explained. The main part of the book contains the treaty by Sunzi and the commented treaty. In the introduction, the commentators are briefly introduced. Most of them are the traditional Chinese commentators, but we also have one Western commentator and the translator. The comments themselves are neither exhaustive nor extensive. Instead of being treated to the full available comments, we have a selection of abridged comments. That makes this commented edition a great introduction into “Art of War” but neither a great study nor a comprehensive lecture. Still loved this introduction and can recommend for anyone who wants to get familiar with the classic.
