"Everyone thinks they want to be the final girl, but no one talks about the cost of becoming one."
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️
I freaking loved this, I honestly only intended to get it started, do some housework then come back to it. Instead I binged it in about 3 hours. This was such a unique take on a slasher story. It reads like a 90's film.
The anticipation, knowing what's to come was built up so beautifully with little hints, some of which do pan out but others, I suspect, are going to be useful in future books.
There were certain moments that were giving me major Scream flashbacks and I thought I had it figured out. But I was still really surprised with the ending and who the unsub is.
Ashe is going to be a final girl that I'll be thinking about for a while. Her love of horror and true crime should have given her a leg up, but instead things go a little differently.
There's so much I want to say about this but can't really because it will give away the ending.
I 100 % recommend if you're looking for a short spicy horror story for the spooky season.
