I couldn't finish this book unfortunately and I'm only giving it two stars because I enjoyed Pamuk's descriptions of Turkey and Istanbul. I loved Pamuk's "My Name is Red" and had really high hopes for this book, but it just didn't deliver for me. I made it over halfway through and kept pushing myself to read just a bit more but I finally gave in. I didn't like Kemal's or Fusun's characters at all. They irritated me and if they were real people who were in my life I'd probably shake them.

Definitely a frustrating read.
