I love when a book makes me self conscious when I'm reading it in public be ause I can't stop laughing at the writing. It's a very good problem to have, and it happened frequently with this book.
I've been a fan of Wil ever since my parents introduced me to the Gruen Transfer in high school, and it was great to see that his humour translates well to book form.
A big gripe I had with Life this past year was answering the question 'how are you' and not feeling able to say 'I'm not fine thanks'. So I felt very seen by this book, the way Wil describes the current climate feels so accurate and his reactions were mine to a T. Usually a book covering these issues would just bring me despair, so it was nice to see it written in a way that both helps you find the humor in the situation as well as inspire you to do something about it.
