Last Night at the Telegraph Club by Malinda Lo

2.75

I don't know how to feel about this book. I really wanted to love it, but it feels... rough?
Many plot points were not given closure in the end, and the romance part was not really done that well? Even though the book is advertised as a romance, there's not a lot to it.
Kath's character felt flat, even compared to some of the Telegraph Club's patrons, which I found way more interesting.
She's just a dream girl that fits Lily's character and is into STEM and likes planes, and is a baby butch.
And I would've loved to find out more about Shirley. And the Red Scare, which was promised in the synopsis but only mentioned once in the actual book.
The raid and everything that came after should have happened earlier in the book. I feel like there's a good third that was just unnecessary.
I admire the amazing research job Malinda did, and it felt so believable, but...
