I found this book informative and captivating. A realistic depiction of the atrocities of wwi, without over dramatizing the glory or horrors experienced by the indigenous folks. I did find a few plot points happened out of no where, and could have benefitted from a little more context, and potentially different formatting; however, the story as a whole was one I will recommend to many readers with varying tastes in literature.
