The Wind Weaver had some really great elements that had me hooked at the beginning of the book. I particularly loved the world building and lore that Johnson wove through the story. In my opinion, those were the strongest parts of the story. I also enjoyed the overall premise of the story, but I found the plot pacing to be slower than I typically prefer, so I wish it moved a little bit more quickly. I also love a morally grey character, so Penn had me immediately intrigued. While I enjoyed Rhya, I wish her character had a stronger development arc. Overall, I believe Johnson had a solid idea, I just wish it was executed better. I did enjoy this enough and appreciated the ending to want to continue with the next book.
