King Lear by William Shakespeare

King Lear is a classic Shakespeare tragedy and I delved right into it's madness as I took the train from Los Angeles to San Diego for Comic Con weekend. I did not expect to be so invested and so enthralled with the stupidity and pride of King Lear.
I've never been a king or owned lands and all the jazz (womp womp), but obviously Lear did not have enough self-awareness to know that when one is in power, others will tell you EXACTLY what YOU want to hear. I can think of countless modern examples of this and it still rings true. Good on ya, ol' Willy Shakespeare! Lear's two eldest daughters, Goneril (not Gonorrhea, but oh so close) and Regan, kiss his ass and get rewarded for it. His youngest, Cornelia, keeps it straight and gets banished. But Lear, being an over-pompous ass, only wants to hear what he wants and because of it basically he
So, let this be a lesson to all. Don't let pride block your self-awareness! It's a good lesson for all especially in this day and age. More than anything, King Lear just reiterates that UGH PEOPLE ARE THE WORST.

loses everything, goes mad, and dies alongside his only loyal daughter! Oh, and his whole family lineage ends and is gone forever. Good job!So, let this be a lesson to all.
