Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

3.0

This was the book chosen for my friend group’s mini book club, and initially, I was not super interested in reading it.
The premise seemed interesting enough, but as someone who is extremely unfamiliar with classics and their writing style, I would rather have read something else.
However, I started Rebecca, and I was invested. I’ll admit that I was pretty bored for the first 50 pages, but after the plot picked up, I was on the edge of my seat.
The characters in this novel were extremely interesting and elusive, and the plot was so secretive that I had to keep reading.
I did not expect the ending twist at all, and loved the unexpected dark turn that this book took.
I recommend this to anyone who is into classics, mystery, and psychological books!
