I liked this better than Alice I Have Been, which was also quite good. Have read a number of these fictional memoirs lately and now know 3 authors who do it really well: Susan Vreeland, Sena Jeter Naslund and now Melanie Benjamin. I found myself thinking I was reading an actual memoir . . . very nicely done.
