Dynamic. Hosseini's words read like a poem, the narrator wishing his son--"your eyelashes like calligraphy"--a safe voyage from the wartorn country he knows. The haunting illustrations cast this boy in the midst of a vast, indifferent sea, of which the narrator prays for knowledge of the precious cargo it bears.

Anything Hosseini writes is a must-read, and this brief, breathtaking piece is no exception.
