Latinx books are my life and I was so excited to see a historical romance from a Latinx author with Latinx characters. The book fit right into the genre that I have been gravitating toward and enjoying the most the last few months PLUS it promised amazing representation. I really enjoyed it! I loved the introduction of the main characters for the series along with the thorough integration of the historical time period. More romances should have that if you ask me! I really liked that the romance started off slowly, though I wish that the synopsis was more accurate with the pacing of the plot. The marriage of convenience isn't relevant until the end in a dire situation. I also think that situation sped of the pacing too much as well as the way the romance was developing. I didn't think it was necessary. There could've been a different solution/ending. However, I really liked all the characters and the romance was soo cute! I am excited to see what the rest of the series brings!
