This got darker than I expected...

I have very mixed feelings about Balance, the third book in the series. On one hand I really like how all of the plot points were tied up in a good way and I really enjoyed it having a happy ever after. But I found it to be much more darker than I expected (trigger warning below) which made the story a really strange horror/fantasy hybrid in a way. Pacing was an issue at times which I think affected the overall story as there were times (when it got faced paced and more horror) that I was hooked reading but then there was other times (say nearly 50% through) that it actually got a bit slow when the whole gang was waiting around for our antagonist to strike when she didn't. But when it got to the 75% mark the action sped up alot to the point I would have loved to have had those chapters being more stretched out.

Overall, I think it was a decent ending to the series.

Trigger warnings:
•A character almost dies giving birth
•Forced pregnancy (from the antagonist to another character)
•Torture
•Forced Blood being taken
•drug abuse (the antagonist is forcing young people to take drugs)
