Scarlett Hart: Monster Hunter by Marcus Sedgwick

3.0

Sadly underwhelming. A lot of work and thought went into this but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Having seen what Sedgwick is capable in traditional prose, I expected more storytelling here but it never gelled. Taylor's artwork is unique and the color palette is interesting but many of the panels felt static and lacking in the dynamism and motion I've come to expect from well-done graphic novels. Kids who are fans of monsters and action will enjoy this one. Readers looking for more nuance will be better served elsewhere.
