The Prison Doctor
by Amanda Brown
Book Description:
Dr Amanda Brown treats inmates in the UK's most infamous prisons. No day is the same as she faces pregnancies, dirty protests, violent attacks and self harm. She has witnessed it all from her patients and it has been heart breaking at times. Despite their crimes, she is still their doctor and in this memoir, Amanda shares her stories, her patients and the cases that have impacted her life.
My Thoughts:
Such a fascinating, insightful read, I was hooked from the start and devoured in a couple of hours.
I love the way Dr Amanda writes, she captivated me and her stories were very interesting, I'm not the biggest fan of our justice system so it was eye opening to look at it from a different point of view.
I'm not sure if I could stay as resilient as her after the things she's faced, but I'm really glad she's shared her story and allowed us to have an insight of what goes in behind those prison walls.
I really was enthralled by her story!
