The Help by Kathryn Stockett
4.0

Un-put-downable!

I loved this plot: it was a mix of a social commentary, suspense, romance, and friendship.

I am not in a position to comment on the validity of Stockett’s writing from the black maid’s point of view as a white woman, as I am ignorant of this. Because of this, it did not affect my total understanding of the book and links between characters, but I am aware that this is an issue in critical insight and that the social commentary may not wholly be accurate.

Despite the shortcomings of the nature of this book, I loved the plot and found it heartwarming, deeply sad, and moving at the same time.
