This was a generally interesting read about the fight for equal female representation in the journalism world in the 1960s. The irony is every romcom today would lead you to believe that all strong and powerful women in NYC are journalists, but the truth is far from that. It has been a struggle for us to find ourselves accepted as equal writers to men, and this story documents the groundbreaking lawsuit filed against Newsweek for their illegal practices regarding the hiring and promotion of women.

The story reads well - I would hope so considering it's written by a former Newsweek reporter - and shows the problems that existed pre-lawsuit and the problems that existed post-lawsuit. At times the writing can get a bit stuck in the weeks, giving the reader so many details that it's hard to keep certain characters straight. But in general, it was a good read, and I'd recommend it to anyone looking to learn more about the feminist movement of the mid-to-late 20th century.
