I am in awe of how engaging this novel was. The hybrid of ancient/modern Chinese societal practices, sci-fi/futuristic plot lines, MC internal conflict, Sexual fluidity (that was a pleasant surprise because THAT wasn't spoiled for me before reading), confronting gender roles, I can't say enough good about this story.
