I sobbed, so much. Cried like a baby, actually. It was perfect.

To start, this was such a perfect conclusion for all our characters. Watching how Vanja and Emeric have grown over the course of this book AND the series was so well done, and their relationship and seeing it shift and grow and change was everything to me. And seeing all the side characters from the other two books come back and how they played into this story had me gnawing at the bars of my enclosure. Each dynamic outside of Vanja and Emeric’s was really interesting too, it felt like a lot of them had natural progressions and struggles that made sense for the characters.

The world building was really solid this time around I think for the most part meshed well with the world. There was only one detail that I got a little stuck on, but I think the book carried it well, so it’s more of a nitpick than anything.

This was such a good mystery. Trying to pick apart the details with the main cast was super fun and honestly the foreshadowing was IMMACULATE. Each twist and turn threw me off my footing, but when we got to the end everything fell into place. The ending especially was the perfect culmination of everything. The book’s climax was just perfect and the final ending was AMAZING.

Honestly I’m so thrilled that I got to see everything come to a close, but sad too. Still, I’m SO looking forward to whatever Owen does next and this will forever remain one of my favourite series ever.
