Darkness Visible: A Memoir of Madness by William Styron
5.0
This short memoir is a poignant, raw, and very intimate insight into what it’s like to suffer from major depressive disorder. Extremely illuminating if you, like me, have no real understanding of what it’s like to live and experience daily the disease we so simply call “depression.” It’s short enough to read in a few hours and is beautifully written, and if you’re at all interested in reading a first-hand account of what it’s like to suffer from depression, go check it out.
