This book put me in such a reading slump (derogatory). Everyone seems to love Sanderson, but after finishing Era 1 of the Mistborn series, I'm questioning if he's for me. I'm not a fan of his style or prose, his storylines sometimes felt stodgy, and the development of his characters is unconvincing. It took me so long to finish this installment because I kept getting bored. The only thing that kept me going was the details of the world building, which I will admit, I thoroughly enjoyed — but that's not enough. Maybe I'll come back to Sanderson someday, but for now, I'll be shelving him.
