I am a lover of police procedural stories, and I am always on the look out for new authors. This author has produced a story which pulled me in straight away. The characters of Alex and Chloe are brilliantly written and as a duo they are quite a pair. Alongside the case they are working on, Alex finds herself becoming embroiled in Chloe’s life far more than she had imagined she would. Chloe has an old case she needs help investigating and it becomes obvious very quickly that it involves someone extremely close to her heart.
Being the first book in a series there is a lot about the characters we don’t know as yet. It felt at times that there is a lot of back story we needed to know, and I hope in future books in the series we can delve into the past. I feel that will give a deeper understanding of Alex in particular.
