I have only read the book once and have only seen the film once. & I have a real snooty attitude, too. I don't like any film adaptations about Frances Scott Fitzgerald's work. Ah, but I just don't like Leonardo DiCaprio. It was different when he was much younger and had long locks of golden hair. He resembled me, and I, him ... But there is something fishy about Leo. Until that period in the 2010s when he made back-to-back movies. I admit I love Inception, and JGL my Hesher. My favorite is Blood Diamond. I scarcely paid any attention to The Great Gatsby at all; mostly because I'm a snob.

Earlier this year I asked a girl to go with me to the ballet at the Tucson convention center, a.k.a the Linda Ronstadt. I bought two tickets for us. This was a fair bargain because she bought me an incredible assortment of calligraphy pens & journals to write in; last Christmas I had a pleasant outing to Winter Haven, and just the right secret Santa. 🧑🏻‍🎄 I like going to the ballet. The dancing was amazing and they did sing 'it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing' ... I am a sucker for Broadway.

Actually, the truth is, I love the legend behind the author. Ernest Hemingway's best friend. Gertrude Stein and co. The Lost generation were the enchanting age I've never totally shrugged off; cause I love Dada and Dada loves me. And Tristan Tzara is really a cult leader. I just don't love The Great Gatsby. I don't love the work itself as much as the person behind it. I love Picasso more than I love his paintings. I love their clique. Meanwhile, between having guests and the Alice Toklas menu served, not everybody had such sex between the bushes. They've made it romantic out of sorrow.

"No amount of fire or freshness can challenge what a man will store up in his ghostly heart."

The only thing I remember about reading it the first time, the keye point taken, is describing 'the wafer moon', and ever since I can't decide if that is a round Nilla Wafer, or a cream-filled waffle wafer at the center of a kit-kat bar. 🍫
