Of Deceit and Snow by Ashley W. Slaughter

3.0

First, I want to thank the author for sending me an ecopy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I read the first book Of Legends and Roses earlier in the year and absolutely loved it. It was a 5-star review for me, so I was really looking forward to continuing on with the series.

Unfortunately, this one suffered from second book syndrome. It was a lot slower paced than the first book and there wasn't as much action or romance for that matter. I feel like this was more of a filler book which I guess is what we mean when we say second book syndrome. Unlike with the first one I found myself struggling to want to pick this one up because of the slow pace.

Despite my issues with this book, I am still really invested in the story and the characters, and I want to know how everything is going to end. I feel like book 3 is going to be an explosive ending to the series and I can't wait for it.

I definitely recommend you read this series if you haven't already because while this book is more of a filler book, I still think it needs to be read because we do get some more backstory.
