Night Angel Nemesis by Brent Weeks

2.0

Oh man, this one was tough. I was prepared for it to be a lot different, but there were some serious issues that bothered me. There are some chapters in books that are difficult and bothersome, but that is a part of the larger story. And when you look back, it seems to fit a lot better. I am really hoping that is what this book is. BUT, my biggest issues

-One of the things I love most about Mr. Weeks' books is that you see tons of different points of view and it's this grand epic scale. When you switch to first person it makes it so much smaller, and 850 pages in first person? Oh man are there some boring parts. Nothing close to Robert Jordan, but still pages 100-250ish seemed to drag on.
-The way some of the characters were in the last trilogy and how they act in this series were very bothersome. Bitter even. Specifically Jeanine and Vi.
-Large parts of the book were maddening. So much hurt and betrayal. I think that was what really irked me about this book. In the first trilogy there were always glimpses of hope, happiness, and goodness. This book feels to have done away with lots of that.

I'll continue the series, but at this point, I'm apprehensive of how it will turn out.
