I was expecting something else, I don't know what, but something else. They classified it as a thriller, and this book isn't.
I'd never thought about the mother's perspective when she finds out her son is a pedo.
Noah wasn't a victim, he was the victimizer, which is why I was bothered by some lines like "He was more of a victim than those girls, but society would never see it that way." How could he be a victim and not the girls he touched? Don't fuck with me. I understand what they did to him was horrible, buuuut...
The worst part is getting to the end and (SPOILER) realizing the mother didn't just know one pedo, but two. You have to be unlucky for one to be your son and the other your husband
