Dora Bruder
by Patrick Modiano
A thought provoking novel that raises questions of memory and the past. The search for Dora Bruder was equally a search within himself to come to terms with his own family history. The holocaust element is harrowing in the sense that the novel emphasised loss and emptiness amongst the factual information.
I enjoyed it but it wasn't the most compelling read, although I was eager to find out the fate of Dora.
