Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

This is my second round on this novel. I was very entertained. This time as well as before, it occurs to me how significant Ron is to the story, and how that never really came across in the movies. His personality is well developed and consistent, and he holds Harry up, providing some common sense to his impulsiveness while tempering Hermoine's academic nature. I think it's the dynamic between them that makes the books so much fun to read!
