Felony Ever After
by Katherine Stevens, Debra Anastasia, S.M. Lumetta, J.M. Darhower, Liv Morris, Leisa Rayven, Penelope Ward, K.A. Robinson, Belle Aurora, Tijan, Vi Keeland, Nina Bocci, Helena Hunting
The Challenge: Pass one chapter to the next author with the vaguest of outlines to work from and see what emerged.
When 13 different authors come together to write one single story - it could either end up being the reader's worst nightmare OR it could be single greatest thing to have been ever read - and that my lovely peeps is what Felony Ever After was for me!
"Some white knights have tattoos, princess."
Hudson Fenn aka @tatwhiteknight, aka Tattoo is exactly what stereotypes would refer to as a criminal and it didn't really help that when we first meet him, he is actually "stealing" a cab. (Yeah not a great first impression!) - but that cheekiness with just about the right hint of charm endears him to the reader within minutes of us stereotyping him :D
Verity Michaels, aka @VerityPics03, is a woman without a goal in life, well except to steer clear of her lecherous boss and try and move back to the love she desperately failed the first time. But Hudson is a complication that she never even imagined would be in her path or that he would even define that path!
"You are a total criminal aren't you?
"Have I stolen your heart yet?"
"What?"
"Don't answer. I won't take it until you give it freely."
I was a little hesistant when it came to reading this book - considering 13 VERY different authors had written this book - but I absolutely adored it!! It had me in stitches so often at work (don't worry, it was a slow day!) that my co-workers had given up even trying to keep me quiet after the first three attempts *teehhehehe*
Verity and Hudson (and their Twitter conversations) were exactly the thing that I needed to get over a reading slump - and the little mystery of those packages was as convulated as I had expected when you 13 different minds trying to make sense of the story!
But I would have LOVED a chapter from Hudson's POV, mostly because the secrets he had been keeping didn't exactly live up to the potential, but darn if I actually cared! Hudson and Verity together are worth getting to read this hilarious book!
"And then he changes everything with his beautiful heart. #HuggingHim Hudson Fenn @tatwhiteknight You bring out the best in this crazy old organ #YoureBeautiful"
