This was compelling enough to hold my attention and enjoy myself for the most part but despite my lack of Christian knowledge it felt heavy handed in some areas and left me a bit confused on what the actual message/purpose was. The ending had a strange, listless quality to it that I didn't like as well. It felt out of tone with the rest of the book and as if it were tacked on.
I was cringing through some of this too. Nothing to do with the book but I'm experiencing a huge turmoil right now with the state of the world and dystopia for me is about bringing to light truths we don't fully understand. I understand this and it's horrifying to me. No more dystopia for me right now.
