The Indispensable Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson
5.0
Part of Mr Watterson’s immense skill is how Calvin and his family come over as real people. Calvin in particular is not a very likeable child to the person viewing him from the outside but has a fully-drawn inner life which makes him sympathetic if not more likeable. This is shown through the stories about the propellor beanie and the burglary as well as in countless other smaller arcs. Great fun.
