I was able to catch a lot more of the lies. We are fed as truths in this second read now that I had just reread the first book as well— particularly in regards to what Tamlin did and didn’t do. I maintain that I find Rhysand a lot more compelling in his mask version of himself than in the alleged good guy he is underneath. Maas is playing a long game and I’m here for it. as always, Lucien my too smart beloved <3
first read: 4.5 i thought for sure that id be annoyed at the pivot from tamlin to rhysand after the beautiful love story woven in the first one. yet this book did a great job of having the reader love rhysand and hate tamlin…however a lot of that is achieved by having tamlin become a completely different character so im not sure how to feel.
