I have mixed feelings on how this portrays domestic abuse, rape, and their perpetrators. it’s annoying and disappointing, given that it’s integral to the story, that there is no acknowledgment by the text that what occurred was rape. rape was only seen as a possibility along with general sexual assault.

for a mainstream book with humorous tones, it does well overall, and I’m grateful. love the solidarity between women, especially Madeline and Jane’s friendship. I got emotional at many points.
