Run Gently Out There: Trials, Trails, and Tribulations of Running Ultramarathons by John Morelock

emotional inspiring relaxing slow-paced

5.0

Okay I…loved? This book??? Morelock was an ultramarathon runner, someone who (voluntarily) ran more than 26.2 miles at a time–usually several times, for fun, in races, across the US. He was also a caring and eloquent writer, covering topics from the beauty of mountain meadows to race nutrition planning to how to pace someone. The style isn’t exceptional, but it is earnest, and if I hadn’t already fallen in love with ultras, this book would have done the trick.
