Tender Is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica
1.0
I don't really know what to say about this book. Not subtle in the ways it thinks it's being and really is awfully gruesome for the sake of it. I had to stop reading it for a bit because it was just making me feel ill. Not an enjoyable experience at all. The writing was fine and I feel a lot of people are rating high because of the shock and gore value...very in your face anti-meat propaganda rather than the interesting dystopia I was expecting. I saw someone on here say "undeveloped and cold" and I completely agree. I didn't relate or care about any of the named characters (only the Jasmine) and the plot points felt predictable and slightly stale.
