This is a primer on reading. Anyone who considers themselves a literacy educator should read this book! Great for preservice teachers of all stripes.

I liked the chapter on book ownership, something I am trying to get off the ground with a PTO sponsored book club.

It is up to us to reverse the damage, which means giving students access to books that give them access to lives of those who have not always been welcome.”
