Having fallen in love with the series I quite enjoyed this book and how it introduces the series, it certainly ended up being one my most favourite series of books. Although the next book in the series is a bit out of place considering the rest of the series.

If I was writing this review up until half way I would have been very cold towards this book, especially the main character who is a Grumpy Old Dinosaur of a detective, but the more the book went on he changed completely and I really warmed to him. The plot was enjoyable and for a change I knew the locations having been a frequent visitor to Bath.
By the end with the big reveal, I thought it was a very good read and a series I would see myself reading more of. I am curious to see where Peter Diamond goes from here.
