The Wedding Veil by Kristy Woodson Harvey
5.0

Love the Biltmore, loved this story.

I've been in awe of the Biltmore since we first visited when I was younger. I mean, how can you not be?! So any book that had this place as the backdrop would probably already be a winner in my book.

But this one knocked it out of the park. I loved the connection between all of the women in the book. I could read a story about each one separately. I never felt that I was missing something because 4 stories were being told instead of one. They all flowed so smoothly that the changing of times or people didn't phase me at all. I particularly liked Julia's story - yes, her wedding was the beginning of the story, but I really enjoyed her finding her strength and footing. I would be her friend in real life.

Babs was amazing - I liked that she said "screw it" and did what she thought was best for her. The story of the Vanderbilts is clearly well known. Kristy Woodson Harvey did a great job giving an inside look into what Edith and Cornelia might have been thinking. (it is of course, a work of fiction - read the author's note!)

Highly recommend this book!
