Everyone loved to put a bitch in her place.
I adored this book, I finished it in 2 days. Margo was so funny and smart and I completely adored her. Her relationships with her baby, her dad and her roommate felt so real and true to her character. I loved watching her develop as a mother and watching her relationship with her father grow and change.
This wasn’t a fluffy fun easy read. It deals with some tough topics (abuse of power, drug addiction, CPS, discrimination against sex workers). It took such a firm pro-sex worker stance and I found the discussions around methadone thought provoking and accurate.
I really needed to watch a woman burn her life down and resurrect herself right now and this book does that multiple times. I really loved it.
I like getting to be the me now watching the past me. It’s almost a way of loving myself. Stroking the cheek of that girl with my understanding. Smoothing her hair in my mind’s eye.
Graphic: Bullying, Drug abuse, Sexism
Moderate: Infidelity, Religious bigotry
Minor: Sexual content, Toxic friendship
